Environmental Portrait
In this photo I liked that there was a dog and that it showed love. I picked this photo because  I  love how the people are in the center and how the sunset is behind them, it makes the photo more balanced

In this photo I like that the subject is a dancer. I picked this photo because of the angle that the photo was taken at and also because I love that it is of a dancer.

1. Framing gives an image depth and draws the eye to a point of interest in the image.
2. Get closer
3. Frame an interesting composition

Africa

1. The pictures that I saw I really liked. They have a lot of character and emotion. I also loved that the pictures of the animals are taken from really cool angles.
2.
3. In this picture there is a Lion looking off in to the distance. This photo is my favorite because it make me think that he is looking over his pride and protecting them.
4.The rules in this picture are rules of third and simplicity.
5. Nick Brandt uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses.
6. His reason for taking these photos wereshowing the animals simply in the state of Being.
7. His hope for these photos are that they aren't a documentary but they show the animals in the state of being.
8."The photos are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes."

Great Black and white Photographers part 3

1. When I first looked at Minor White's photos what caught my eye was that his photos have character. Here are two examples of pictures of his that I though had great character.

2. a.  I see a house in the hill country.
I hear the thunder rolling in the background.
I touch the wheat growing in the fields.
    I taste rain.
I smell  hay in the barn.

2. b   I see a flower.
    I hear a bee buzzing.
    I touch the silky peddles.
    I taste honey.
    I smell sweetness.

3. To show the world that I am a great photographer I would use a power point and a blog. I would like to create like a huge power point or something and just have every student post photos from the school day.

Academic Shoot reflection and critique

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos following the rules I set out for you?
The challenges that I encountered during this shoot were trying to follow all the rules in the pictures like rule of thirds for example

2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly.

I found myself thinking of all the aspects but I guess I found myself mostly thinking about framing.

3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?
The things that I would do differently are that I would take the pictures from different angles and try to follow the rules better.

4. What things would you do the same?
Things that I would do the same are
focus on the student more and not the things around them.

5. When you go out with your next set of prompts, which rule do you think will be the easiest to achieve?
I think that simplicity will be the easiest.

6. Which rule do you think will be the hardest to capture?
I think rule of thirds will be the hardest.

7. What rule are you still not totally clear on and what can you do to figure out what that rule is?
I still don't quite understand rule of thirds. I can ask round and figure it out and try it and remember it.

1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school?
I think our theme should be high school.
2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?
I think we should use regular cameras
3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?

Academic shoot- The rules

Lines
1. I followed the rule by having lines incorporated into the photo.
2. The subject of this photo is the girls homework.
3.Yes to people looking at this photo it is clear what the subject is.

Simplicity
1. I think that I followed this rule pretty well because there is only one subject and not multiple.
2. The subject of this photo is the boy.
3.Yes I think again that if people looked at the photo that they would be able to tell what/who the subject of the photo is.
4. I could have probably gotten a little less of the stuff around him.

Balance
1. I  followed this rule pretty well also on this picture because there is a balance between two students.
2. the subject in this photo is the two students.
3. Yes the people can tell who the subject is.

Rule of thirds
1. I didn't really follow this rule well.
2. There isn't really a subject in this photo.
3. They could probably tell what the subject is.
4. I could do this rule better by knowing the rule.
Framing
1. I followed this rule really well.
2. the subject is the boy.
3.Yes people can tell who the subject is.
