Final Exam preview assignment

1.) Summarize what you watched and read about - let's say 2-3 paragraphs of 3-4 sentences
website: http://mediacommons.psu.edu/2014/08/introduction-to-basic-editing-in-imovie-2/
In this article I learned what the different workspaces are and their different functions. For example the event Library allows you to open all imported stuff on your computer, basically working like a  media browser. Now the project workspace is different, it is were you access all the movie and stuff you created and also it is were you can create a new project for things in your event library.

I also learned how to editing workflow between the event library and project.  I learned that the is one huge difference between the event library and the project timeline and that is that you can't edit in the event library workspace and all the editing that you would want to do would have to happen in the Project timeline workspace. I learned also how to edit in the timeline. For example splitting a clip, and trimming clips. In splitting a clip, you have to move the orange line that follows your cursor to a point where you want to spilt the picture and click on it.
2) I didn't know anything already that the website explained because I don't use iMovie
3)I learned how to trim and split the pictures and how IMovie works in general since I knew nothing already.
4)I am concerned with getting it done in time and turning it in on time since Mr.Reeves said it would take about an hour to covert it and stuff.
5)I am kind of confident to have an idea on what I'm going to take pictures of  and how I'm going to narrate it.
6) I have no clue or idea in my head, I would need to see examples from past years to get an idea at least rolling in my head.

1.) Summarize what you watched and read about - let's say 2-3 paragraphs of 3-4 sentences
website:

In this video I first learned what all I needed to create a movie through iMovie which was a video camera, the tape you shot on, a cable to connect you camera to your computer, and a computer that has iMovie on it. So first you open up iMovie and click on create a new project and name it. and choose a place to save it. Then set your video format to DV if you shot a standard project using a mini DV camera, and then hit create and you are on your way to making your first project on iMovie.

Next I learned that there are 3 major elements the view screen, clip spin and your timeline.  The view screen is where you watch what you have already done so far. The Clip spin is where you put your video and take photos from it. And last the timeline is where you line up all your materials.

2.) Tell me one thing that you already knew about iMovie that the website explained
I didn't know anything already that the website explained because I don't use iMovie
3)Tell me one thing that you learned new today that you didn’t know before.
I learned what the three major elements in iMovie are and I also learned what I needed to create a movie.
4)What are you concerned about with this final project?
I am concerned with getting it done in time and turning it in on time since Mr.Reeves said it would take about an hour to covert it and stuff.
5)What are you confident you can complete early and have ready to use?
I am kind of confident to have an idea on what I'm going to take pictures of and how I'm going to narrate it.
6)If I asked you today, what do you think you will do for your video?
I have no clue or idea in my head, I would need to see examples from past years to get an idea at least rolling in my head.

The big day

I think the story behind this video is that you need to get to things early so you don't get replaced. Also that the volts wagon car is fat when you aren't in traffic.

Who: the bride and her ex husband
 where : a church
when: May 2 2014
what : Her present finance was running late so she decided to marry her ex- husband instead.
Why : He was running late
How:

The weather is gloomy and dark. The wind shield wipers are going and the  car goes through a puddle of water and makes the water go up towards the camera. The car is first on a road in medowish place and then it goes to a forest and the a medowish place again and next the car goes past mountains and then it is in a city as they guy wait for a train to move out of his way and last the car is at the actual church were the guy walks in during the other peoples wedding.

Who: The bride, Her ex husband or boyfriend, and her present boyfriend
where: a road, church
When: April 3 2014
what: the brides present boyfriend or finance was running late and so since her past boyfriend or husband was there and he still had feelings for her and he saw that the other guy didn't show so he told her that he could take his place because he still loved her and she agreed.

Student of the year story

Student of the month story

By: Jamie Council

Hana Dole, a freshman, won student of the month by being nominated by the students and Staff at James Bowie high School for her hard work and dedication to helping others around her not just her fellow peers.  “Hana definitely deserved the award because she is always helping out her teachers and other teacher when they need help and she always has straight A’s.” Runner up Veronica Wisor said.

Hana had to do a lot of work in order to win student of the month, for instance community service, Dole worker at a local animal shelter to help some of the animals adopted. “Dole has always been a student that I can always go to for help with a community project because she is always willing to help out anyone that need her help, especially in her own community.” Mr. Cane the principle of Bowie High school said.

There were twenty other people that Hana was up against for Student of the month and all of them could have won. “ We all stood a pretty good chance at winning but it just kind of came to who works the hardest, who has the best grades, and other small little things like that. ” Senior third runner up Lynmarie said.

The administration announced the final winner on the announcements. “When I heard them call my name out I felt every accomplished with myself because I had spent so long working so hard and to know that it paid off felt amazing!” Hana Dole said.

The whole process took about three weeks and all the nominees had a little bit or a lot of stress put on them by themselves because they wanted to win Student of the month. “I had a little bit of stress but not much because I had already planned what I was gonna do, how I was gonna do it, when I was gonna do it, and where I was gonna do it.” Dole said.

The admission gave the nominees an option for their parent to help them with applying and everything, and most people jumped on the opportunity to have some advice from a greater source and other didn’t. “My parents didn’t want to help me because they wanted me to win this award on my own and not with their help.” Wisor said

“The advice I have to give to future people who want to apply for Student of the month is work hard, help out your community, get really good grade, and just enjoy the whole process and don’t stress out about it too much.” Dole said.

Architecture preview 2

La Pedrera

details-

This picture matches detail because when you look up pictures of La Pedrera it shows the build and not really the top of it. In this picture it shows the top of the build and it shows the detail that the archetct put into creating the design on the pillars.

Light-

This picture matches light because you can see the contrast between sunlight and shadows. The light that you see in the picture isn't artificial light it is light from he sun.

Pattern -

This photo matches patterns because the one piece of artwork is repeating and repeating. The artwork also had a very unique design to it almost like a face.

Angles and shapes -

This photo matches angles and shapes because of the spiral on the structure and the unique holes in the pillars. These angles and shapes are very creative.

Surroundings -

This Picture matches surroundings best because it doesn't just show the front of the building, it shows the intersection in front of the building.

7. I picked this Building because the name sounded cool, and because it was in the united kingdom. When I first saw the pictures of the Eden Project was amazed at how pretty and amazing it looked! After looking at a few different photos I could tell that it is more of a nature site than anything else.

Sculptured House, USA

using a projector

http://petapixel.com/2015/01/01/projector-brought-forest-turns-nature-glowing-wonderland/

Screen Shot 2015-01-01 at 12.19.46 PM
On this website I saw really cool photos like the one above that were taken using a projector. Also the website had  a few pictures up of the people taking the picture and setting the projector up to take the photos.

1. I picked this photo because it looks like the leaves are on fire kind of and i think its a pretty unique idea to use a projector to take a photo.

2. I personally think there isn't any rules of photography showed in this picture.

3. Tarek Mawad and Friedrich Schoor took this photo.

500px top photos 2014

http://iso.500px.com/category/creative/collections/
The collection I choose was the wedding one.

wedding_21

On this website  I saw different wedding photos or photos of couples getting ready for their wedding. I also saw photos that were taken at weddings or pictures of a bride or groom.

1. I picked this photo because I thought it was adorable! and I like that instead of it being a picture of adults its a picture of little kids.
2. I think that this picture may follow the photography rule of simplicity, since there is only one main subject and that is the kids.
3. Vitalii Svit took this photo.

the oldest living things in the world

http://www.rachelsussman.com/oltw/

3SussmanAntarcticMoss.jpg

On this website I saw really cool pictures of things that are really old in the world. there were different things from trees to things underwater. And what I really like is that the things at the photographer took photos of were things in nature and not of like old monuments and stuff like that.

1. I picked this photo because I liked that the photographer also got the water in the picture and didn't get just the island itself.

2.  I personally think that none of the rules of photography are present in this picture.
3. I think Rachel Sussman took the photos but I am not 100% positive.

Spiral stair case

http://petapixel.com/2014/12/19/disorienting-beauty-spiral-staircases-old-abandoned-buildings/

wooden spiral staircase

From looking on this website I obviously saw different pictures of spiral stair case but yet when you take a second to actually in take the photo and look at the different ways that the spiral staircases were built, you realize all the different ways and angles that the photographer could have take the photo from and it still look the same yet completely different.

1. I picked this photo because i personally like spiral staircases just not walking down them, but i really thought and liked the  way the photographer took this photo. I really think it is a pretty unique angle and that's what made the photo itself better.

2. I personally think that the photography rules that are implies in this photo are lines, and simplicity. I think that the rule of photography lines is implied in this photo because of the stair spindles . And i think the rule simplicity also is implied because there is only the spiral stair case to look at and nothing else.

3. Christian Richter is the photographer who took this photo.

Photography resolutions for 2015

http://petapixel.com/2014/12/31/10-photography-resolutions-new-year/

On this website I saw different and unique photos. When I looked at these photos I thought that the photographer came up with very creative ways and angles of the pictures and that the ideas that the photographer used were very creative and unique.
I think this photo uses the rule of simplicity and rule of thirds. I think it follows the rule of simplicity because there is only one thing in the picture for the audience to look at, and the picture follows rule of thirds because the dog is mainly on the right side of the picture.
Jenna Martin took this photo.

Prompt shoot peer review

http://elisasphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com

My favorite picture of Elisa's is her picture for yummy. This is my favorite picture because I like how she took the picture a empty Starbucks cup because it shows that it was so yummy that the person drank it all.
My least favorite is footprints. Even though all her photo were very creative, in my opinion footprints could have been represented better and thats why it was my least favorite photo.
Elisa's photos were very creative and unique.
I honestly don't really find any thing wrong or that she could improve on.
I think she did the best in portraying the prompt eight.
I think she did the least in portraying foot prints.
